Alright but I'm little confused so do u mean that I open filezilla and put the username of swift in the section of username and the same thing with the password? if not could you please give me more details.

Also, before doing that i am just wondering if there are no configurations to do with cloudfs so that it will be able to "exchange" datas with filezilla for eg. Because the real point is that I need to create my own ftp client and connect it with cloudfs to be able to communicate with swift (upload, download,etc...) so that's why I want to understand how it works with filezilla.

I hope it's clear ...thanks....:)

your account:username (url encoded for the colon) for ftp username and key for password should works...

the value need to specified in bytes and it is 65536 by default so 64 converted to megabyte.

Thank you for posting this. It's very helpful in understanding the object server at a lower level. Is the default network_chunk_size 64m or 64k ?

I'm running into this error when trying to use swift and keystone by running the exercises/swift.sh script or the tests on this page:

Note: My venerable Pentium-M doesn't has PAE so I cannot use 3.x or 4.x versions.

Hi, Chmouel. What's the difference between the Admin role and KeystoneServiceAdmin role predefined in Keystone? Is the KeystoneServiceAdmin role just a subset of Admin role? If not , what is the KeystoneServiceAdmin role used for?

Just a quick comment to say thanks :)

I have wasted a couple days trying to backup my servers using the same script but with S3, and it's been a nightmare. Poor S3 performance both with uploads and downloads, and I was basically unable to fully test a restore consistently due to read timeouts etc. Disabling SSL transfer helped a little, but not much.

So I found this post and tried your version of the script after activating an account for Cloud Files. It's so much better! UL/DL performance is better, and I seem to be able to reliably backup and restore without problems.

I am not sure of what went wrong with S3, but after two days I am happy to have found a better (for me) solution. The S3 region I was using is the one in Europe (Ireland), so perhaps it would be better with some other region if that one is having problems...dunno. Anyway. no longer an issue.

Please let me know if you're available for hire, we need to implement some kind of utility between a web app that runs classic ASP and Rackspace Cloud files. I'm envisioning a DLL that could be called from within the classic ASP code that replaces the VBscript fileSystemObject that we use now to manage files on the server. Thank you.
